Questions about local conversion
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Decoding, resizing, and encoding happen in your browser. The selected files stay in browser memory and are removed when you close or refresh the page.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. Add up to 100 images, apply one set of output settings, convert the batch, then download files individually or together in a ZIP archive.
What happens to EXIF and GPS metadata?
Converted files are rendered through a fresh canvas, so original EXIF, GPS, camera, and comment metadata is not copied to the output.
Why does JPG need a background color?
JPG cannot store transparent pixels. When the source has transparency, the converter fills those areas with your selected color before saving the JPG.
Why can a PNG be larger than the source file?
PNG stores decoded pixels with lossless compression. A compact HEIC, AVIF, or WebP photo can become much larger when exported as a full-resolution PNG.
Does the converter work on phones?
It works in current mobile browsers. Large photo batches use significant memory, so smaller batches are more reliable on older phones and tablets.
